One of the few people who has run hardware engineering at Apple, Meta and OpenAI. Built MacBook enclosures at Apple, then spent a decade at Meta leading VR hardware from the first Oculus Rift through Quest and the Orion AR prototype. Joined OpenAI in November 2024 to stand up its robotics and consumer-hardware effort, and resigned in March 2026 over the company's Department of Defense agreement, objecting publicly to surveillance without judicial oversight and lethal autonomy without human authorization. Her thesis on the current moment is that AI hardware is at the very beginning, not the peak, because the models finally justify new form factors.
