Tsinghua-trained with a USC PhD, among the earliest researchers to propose attention mechanisms in neural networks contemporaneous with Google. Founded X Square Robot (Zibianliang) in Shenzhen in Dec 2023 to build WALL-A, an end-to-end embodied foundation model for open-task manipulation. Eight funding rounds in two years, including a ~1B RMB A+ led by Alibaba Cloud; his stated 2026 goal is robots doing whole household tasks independently.
