The Apple executive who created the Vision Pro headset. In April 2025, after Apple's delayed 'more personal Siri' became a public embarrassment, Apple put Rockwell in charge of Siri (taking it from John Giannandrea) and he restructured the team with his Vision Pro engineers. He is re-architecting Siri around an LLM-based system, now expected to ship with iOS 27; Apple's long-delayed smart-home hub is reportedly gated on that personalized Siri being ready. Rockwell still leads visionOS, and has reportedly weighed stepping back to an advisory role once the Siri overhaul lands.
