Started Ecovacs in Suzhou in 1998 as an OEM for foreign vacuum brands, moved up the stack with the DEEBOT line and took the company public in Shanghai in 2018, the first robot-vacuum listing in China. The 2026 position is defended rather than dominant: Ecovacs still holds close to half the Chinese full-channel market, but has slipped to third globally by volume behind Dreame and Roborock, both growing faster. The strategic answer shown at CES 2026 is to stop being a vacuum company — full-scenario service robotics, from lawn mowers and window cleaners to machines that leave the floor entirely.
