Spun out of Horizon Robotics' robot division as an independent company in Jan 2024 (Shenzhen), D-Robotics is a 'picks-and-shovels' platform for embodied AI — a universal robot base spanning chips, algorithms, software and dev tools rather than building its own robot bodies. CEO Wang Cong (Beijing Univ of Technology CS, Wright State PhD; ex-Alibaba, co-founder of Memect) led Horizon's AIoT and robotics lines before the spin-off. Its RDK (Robot Developer Kit) line runs from RDK X3/X5 (10 TOPS) to the RDK S100 (100 TOPS, a single-SoC compute-and-control kit), with a 500+ TOPS SoC for end-to-end 'AGI robots' planned for 2026; the core BPU is licensed from Horizon. Raised a $100M Series A (May 2025), then B1 $120M + B2 $150M (Mar–Apr 2026, backers incl. Didi and Meituan's Longzhu), $370M+ disclosed to date.
